Welcome to the world of Amir Khillah.  We’ve created this website to keep fans and friends up to date on the latest happenings of a guy trying to make it in the sport of MMA.  There is a lot of hard work and dedication and support of family and friends that got me here and I just want to share my journey.  I hope you enjoy your visit to the site, so let’s get to it and find out what’s currently going on:

Khillah joins the H.I.T. Squad

I am the newest pro fighter to the Hughes Intensive Training Squad.   I am proudly representing Lightning Kicks and the H.I.T. Squad.

Surgery Complete

Surgery went well today, thanks for all the calls, texts, and emails from the H.I.T. Squad and Lightning Kicks. My sergeant wasn't to happy about me finishing the fight with a broken hand, he informed me how lucky I was that I didn't sever a tendon, nerves, or a blood vessel.  Some folks just don't get it. I'm up to 185 pounds after a week of free eating and no exercise. That's thirty pounds in a week, I hope coach Fiore doesn't see this. I'm back to eating clean today, and I should be able to start cardio on Wednesday.

Broken Hand during First Round

This truly made the second and third rounds kind of challenging.

Last Saturday I had a fight in Crystal Lake, IL, it was a real fun night because my mom, Sania, was able to make it out. The fight itself was not so fun, I broke my left second metacarpal early in the first round, which made the remainder of the first, as well as the second and third, well... not so fun. I was unable to finish my opponent with a broken hand and ended up losing a split decision. There were also a number of other factors that came into play, but I try not to focus on factors I can't control.

I'm having surgery to reconstruct my hand on Monday morning. I will post another blog shortly there after. Thank you all for all the support, calls, and prayers.

10 July 2008

I've had a crazy month so far, i was out in WI coaching Kelvine at AAU nationals, then I coached Jacob at USAT nationals in Detroit. I got back to work yesterday (Granite City). Coach Fiore scheduled me to fight on August 9th, not sure where or with whom, but I'm excited to implement some new things the coaches have been working on with me. On the 18th, the majority of my teammates and i are heading to Kalamazoo to conduct seminars at Lightning Kicks on the 19th. Four of my top students are testing for their black belts on the 26th, I'm very proud and excited for them. I know they will all do well, Jenni, Manny, Beryl, and Andre are all ready. Shadi, my brother, is getting married on the 27th, 727, I guess its an aviation thing. I'm super excited for Shadi and Laura. My staff at Lightning Kicks have been doing an amazing job, they have truly taken the school to new highets, a special thanks to Chad, Denise, Blair, Manny, Sherri, Bruce, and TJ.
